Twelve Trips From 2012
Thought I may be able to pick out my twelve favourite places or photos from 2012, impossible task. So instead, photos from 12 of my favourite travels and walks.
Started my year in Devon, but enjoyed a walking weekend in Shropshire.
February brought some reasonable snow walking weather and a hike up the Crinkles.
March I hike up Kentmere and Fairfield Horseshoes, but rather like this picture of snow blowers in France.
April I wandered off to Yorkshire and enjoyed a day at Fountains Abbey, but closer to home, the Duddon Estuary is just as impressive.
May, my highlight was a trip to see my family in Latvia. Architecture and art, but some wonderful lakes and wildlife too.
June. While most of the UK was being initiated in to the summer of floods, Shetland had amazingly dry week. Just look at that tropical sand.
July. I didn’t make the Olympics. A month at home in wonderful sunshine! Humm….. But there are some fantastic wild flowers in Silverdale
August. It did not rain all the time… honest. Friends came up and we had some wonderful walking round Coniston and Ullswater.
September we had Mintfest in Kendal, and walks in Yorkshire and the Lakes
October I had the trip of a lifetime in Bhutan and Nepal. So many pictures I thought this one of me wondering where to turn next!
November – I returned to Snowvember
December – a wet and windy washout… but there have been some wonderful clouds. This from a short walk up Scout Scar.
I wonder what 2013 will bring.
Thank you for reading – have a wonderful year. Alvina
