The Knott and Angle Tarn

Another photo frenzy day.

Starting at Hayeswater

and on to The Knott

Route picked

simply because

I hadn’t been there for some time.

There is no other reason to go to the top of The Knot  bar the view.

A glance over the hills to the east and Bannerdale,

the first hint that you not in a mountain range of continental proportion.

Bannerdale Valley

There was a vague thought to perhaps go up Rest Dodd, but then – I changed my mind.  Instead wandering down to find Angle Tarn.  Water and sunshine.  A good camera combination.

Satura

Before Angle Tarn the tiny tarns above Satura crags splashed over the hills, intercepted by cleverly placed rocks.  A well designed landscape.

Angle Tarn

Keeping high, away from the usual path,  my Fuji X-T1 just about ‘squoze’ Angle Tarn within my current favourite lens, XF14

Angle Tarn Pikes

Taking the back way Angle Tarn Pikes sliced the hill like fins.

And then down.

Patterdale

Ullswater and Brothers water filling each end of the western corridor.  Recent rain and warmth coloured their surrounds vivid green.  Higher slopes still bearing winter orange and brown.

There is always a different way to find up the fells.  Another reason to go north.
