at the National Trust’s   Fountains Abbey and

 

Studley Royal Water Garden.

 

Straight Lines

Sculptured lawns

Captured waterfalls

fall

with solid bridges.

Bridge

Seats for quiet contemplation.

Follies

folly

with views of castles.

Which is, of course,

abbey

the ancient Abbey,

Abbey

falling to ruin

abbey tower

But still with arches and towers,

moss

not yet reclaimed by moss,

fungi

fungi,

forrest

and forest.

Certainly no map or GPS required!
