Langdale Valley – and more
‘There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing’. Not sure who that quote can be attributed to but combined with my quote from my blog on Thursday, there is no excuse for staying indoors in all but the worst weather. So even though it was dull and misty the Lake District hills were still there to be experienced. There is a lovely walk around the Langdale Valley, starting from Elterwater (see tours and itineraries page) which keeps you low and out of the mist while still enjoying the splendour of the hills. I love all weathers and today it was so important to stop and listen to the silence. The mist muffled the sounds of nature and the absence of the summer tourists made it all the more attractive.
And a bit more….Coming soon will be a page about Products, Walking, Events, Culture and Places to See. Cumbria and the Lake District has far more to offer than just mountains. Since my return I have been over whelmed by the Events that go on here. Having moved from Stratford it was incredible to find that the Globe Theatre were performing ‘As You Like It’ on the Lake in August, Lenny Henry was on at the Leisure Centre in Kendal in December. Lancaster Libraries has some amazing artists and then there is Kendal Calling, our very own music festival. Keep watching and please feedback if there is anything you would like to see or write about.
