Fairfield on Friday
Three days of walking over Easter have appeared out of order. Added to Jacks Rake, St Sunday and Nethermost, I had a quick hike around Fairfield on Friday.
For the second time.
The first back in March 2012 when I wasn’t really thinking about ‘bagging’ Wainwrights.
Amazingly the weather was equally as wonderful then as this weekend. Having just read my account of the route, here, and without the weather to whinge about, there is not much to add.
So just pictures of Fairfield on Friday:
Scandale Beck
.. and valley
With a warning.
The 360s began with the Old Man
Around Low Pike
Vistas of Red Screes and Kirstone one way
and Windermere the other.
Throw in the Sca fells
and Gable, and there are not that many ranges left
Though mustn’t forget Dollywaggon and Nethermost leading up Helvellyn
and of course St Sunday…. I could go on and on… but
every hill in sight would be far too long a list,
and then I’d have to start on the lakes!
The only thing missing was Rosie, who accompanied me last time,
but didn’t appear in the last blog, so in memory of my greatest walking friend here she is!
The route, a little over 12 miles
