Walk and Travel in Cumbria and Beyond

Reasons to Stay North

Reasons to Stay North

So this is why I live here!

The sun came out,

and I went for a walk!

After weeks of rain and wind there was hardly a breath as we got out the car by Dash Falls to begin another linear route over to Lonscale.

There was, of course, Skiddaw and Little Man in the way.

Snow painted the tops and clouds hung in the valley as I headed between Clough Head and Blencathra.  Promise of a good day.

Water crashed down  Dash, filling the valley with an eerie roar.

and the route up to Skiddaw clearly was not going to be a problem.

Cumbria folded away in every direction

And the snow folded over Skiddaw

Even the bikers had made it up.

From Little Man we were back to green,

with the only interest on Lonscale being the continuing view of Blencathra

and back to where we had been.

Finally back to earth with Clough Head
