Compare and Contrast

Now back in the UK for over a week – already having walked in the snow of the lakes and now having been to our illustrious capital for a taste of culture with Stephen Fry, among others, in Twelfth Night. Fantastically funny production, if you get chance go.

The striking contrast between our capital city and Kathmandu bordered on the ridiculous.

Then there are the shopping bags…

All that packaging for frivolities.   Much more elegant,

.. and altogether more necessary

The only wildlife were reindeer from a film set.  I couldn’t bring myself to queue to photograph them, but they didn’t fly in.

Far more fun the monkeys with their own swimming pool.

 
As for the Gods we worship

they just don’t have the style

And who needs an apstore with all this to choose from.

May be I’ll fly back to do my Christmas shopping..  or may be I’ll just skip Christmas this year.
