Day 9, 10 to go on The Pennine Way

Hawes to Keld 20km

June has not been kind.

Shunner Fell may well be one of the best stretches of the Pennine Way. If you can see it!

Not today. I had hoped by sitting for a while on the top at the shelter, may be it would lift. There is even a big symbol on the OS map indicating a view here,

But no, had to return to flags, water and sphagnum moss,

In true midsummer style once over the top into the valley, everything changed

skylarks and lapwings returned. Wild flowers tried to convince me it really is June.

And the day was complete, with tea and cake in the Thwaite tea rooms before the final pull up the hill to Keld. The Keld Lodge makes delicious food!
