Alston to Greenhead

It was hot. Such a contrast from when I started this journey.

Desperate measures.

The Tyne Trail heads the same way as the Pennine Way to just past Slaggyford. Given the forecast I opted for this shady route.

I had time to enjoy the flowers and pastoral scenes.

Not long before I was up on the moorland

There is not a lot to recommend Hartlyburn and Blenkinstopp Commons. There have been other places with vast expanses of nothingness, this final stretch to Greenhead capped them all

Flat. Large enough to hide any views whatsoever. Would have been worse in the rain!

Perhaps living in the Lake District has rather spoilt me as far as landscape is concerned.

If you enjoy my pictures and words, please like and share.
